We have high standards and only trusted and respected experts in the data privacy community join our associate network.

All projects are assessed by one of our core team of Senior Data Privacy Consultants who are legal and compliance experts for UK, EU and international privacy and data protection.

Our business model allows us to be very competitive on cost, all our fees are 100% transparent. We aim to ensure that you will know at all times exactly what is being done, who is doing it, when it will be finished and how much it will cost.

Brexit

Being part of the European Union, the United Kingdom was expected to adapt to the new EU General Regulation on Data Protection requirements till May 2018, but the result of the 23 June 2016 referendum on membership of the EU now means that the UK Government needs to consider the impact of the GDPR. It is highly likely that the UK will adopt the same level of protection as the one incorporated in the GDPR because it is not expected that the UK will exit the EU before the GDPR enters into force on 25 May 2018. Secondly, UK-based organisations that offer goods or services to EU-resident individuals, or whose processing activities are related to such offering, will be directly subjected to the GDPR regardless of whether the Regulation is in force in the UK.

GDPR and DPO

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be enforced in the EU on May 25, 2018, replacing the national laws and regulations. It will impose a stricter privacy and data protection regime, including expansion of jurisdiction, stricter consent conditions, the right to be forgotten, data portability, data breach notification requirement, etc.

Another important requirement of the GDPR is the mandatory designation of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in situations when the processing is carried out by a public authority, the core activities of the controller/ processor require monitoring of data subjects on a large scale, and when the core activities of the controller/processor consist of processing of special categories of data on a large scale. The main duties of a DPO are:

to inform and advise all the stakeholders on their obligations pursuant to the GDPR and other data protection provisions,
to monitor compliance,
to provide advice with regard to the data protection impact assessment,
to cooperate with the supervisory authority,
to act as the contact point for the supervisory authority.

We can help you appoint the right legal and compliance expert who can help your organisation to fulfill all of the requirements stemming from EU and international data protection regulation. We also provide a single DPO for multiple undertakings, which results in lower costs but still ensures compliance.
